. Rebatibhushan Ghosh's 'Itihaashey Ghanada' (01.01.1969 - 16.07.1969),
based on 'Das Holen Ghanada' appeared in the 'Jugantar' daily.
From 1st May 1969, an uncredited artist (probably Bitapal, pseudonym of Atanu Basu)
replaced Rebatibhushan, who later designed the logo for 'Ghanada Club'.

. Phalguni (Dhruba Roy ?) adapted his 'Kailashey Ghanada' from Premendra Mitra's 'Hnaash'.
In the early 1970s it appeared serially in 'Jugantar'.

. Goutam Karmakar's excellent series in 'Kishore Jnan Bijnan' :

'Mongolgrohey Ghanada' (May 1985 - May 1986), 'Maati' (Puja Special, 1985), 'Tel' (June, 1986) reminds one of the Dhiren Baul prototype with an Ajit Gupta cranium shape.

. Ranjan Dutta's hero was a cartoonish variation on the Ajit Gupta trademark.

His series in the Ujjal Sahitya Mandir annuals includes :

'Nuri' ('Ujjwal Utshab', 1996), 'Phuto' ('Shonaali Utshab', 1997), 'Hnaash' ('Milan Utshab', 1998), 'Ghori' ('Mawjaar Utshab', 1999) & more ...

. The first Ghanada comic book for the graphic novel generation (Ananda Publishers) featured Shubhra Chakrabarty's

'Tel Deben Ghanada' (serialised in 'Anandamela', 20.04.11 - 20.09.2011),

'Nuri' ('Ebela', 01.01.2013 - 16.02.2013) & 'Chhori' ('Ebela', 17.02.2013 - 15.03.2013).

Juvenile fiction in Bengali is dominated by the ‘Da’-s. Tenida, Pheluda, Wrijuda, Pindida….

Ghanashyam Das was among the first to popularise this trend.

Ghanada’s zany yarns were originally decorated with a set of uber-cool drawings complementing his persona.

Sadly, only a sprinkling is gettable at present.

This website, a companion to our Facebook Page 'Ghanada Gallery', ventures to display the illustrious Ghanada illustrations.

And more… if you’re keen !
